Boiler installs, servicing and repairs across Halstead. The old mill town streets tend to mean older, narrower pipework — worth a proper look before any swap.
Local to Halstead
Halstead grew up around the textile and silk-weaving industry on the River Colne, and the town still has a real core of homes from before 1919. Around that, it’s mostly semis and terraces, from 1950s estates to recent builds.
Older properties here often mean older, narrower pipework, which is exactly the kind of thing worth a proper look at before any boiler swap rather than a phone-quote guess.
Most homes are on mains gas, with some — mostly flats — on electric heating.
Earls Colne, just along the valley, has its own line below.
Have used Gavin at GH Heating for a few years for our boiler. Earlier this week I had a problem with our water supply upstairs and rang GH on the off chance they could help. Gavin arrived first thing next morning and identified the problem, went for a new part and fitted and tested system before lunchtime that day. Excellent service as always and would not hesitate to recommend him and his company.Read full review

I used GH Heating services to install a new oil boiler, and was very satisfied with the service. I dealt with Gavin who was professional, courteous, and quick to respond to any questions. The installation was conducted within the expected timeframe, and the site was left in a clean and tidy condition. The new boiler is working as expected, and a warranty has been arranged with Gavin for 5 years to handle any product issues that may occur.Read full review
Excellent. Gavin provided a clear and competitive quote, arrived on time on the due date and delivered an excellent service. All plumbing works were superb, with a neat and tidy approach to the work and a clean space after completion. I know finding a good plumber is hard – Gavin was great!Read full review
Gavin was very helpful over the phone in our initial conversation about our broken boiler and was able to attend the next day. He was very thorough and even came back later in the day with another part that was needed to finish the job to fit around my commitments. He was polite and friendly and I felt very confident in his knowledge and skills. I would recommend Gavin to anyone who asked and won't hesitate to hire him again for future work.Read full review
