Ipswich is Suffolk’s county town and one of the oldest continuously occupied towns in England. Its housing is mostly terraces and flats, with a lot of homes from before 1950 — Victorian and Edwardian streets, then the interwar estates — alongside everything built since.
That range means jobs here vary a lot, which is why we always survey properly rather than quote blind. Most homes are on mains gas, with a fair number of flats on electric heating.
The edges are different again. Kesgrave, Martlesham and Pinewood are mostly homes built from the late 1970s on, while out at Nacton, Copdock and the Shotley Peninsula a lot of homes are off the gas grid on oil. We’re OFTEC registered as well as Gas Safe, so oil is covered as fully as gas.
