Plumbing Repairs in Colchester & Essex

Plumbing work alongside the heating — for the properties and customers we already look after.

What we take on

Heating engineers who plumb, not the other way round.

We are a heating firm first. Most of the plumbing we do is connected to what we already look after — cylinders, valves, pipework, the things that sit around a heating system and fail alongside it.

That is worth saying plainly, because it sets expectations. If you need a full bathroom fitting, we are not the right call. If you have a leak, a failed cylinder, a valve that has given up or pipework that needs altering, we are.

Typical jobs

What we get called out for.

  • Leaking pipework, joints and valves
  • Hot water cylinder repairs and replacement
  • Unvented cylinder servicing and safety checks
  • Ball valves, stopcocks and isolation valves
  • Tap and cistern repairs
  • Frozen and burst pipes
  • Pipework alterations around heating work

How it works

Priced before we start.

Plumbing repairs are charged for the visit and then in half-hour blocks, the same structure as a boiler repair, and the rates are published on the pricing page rather than worked out afterwards.

We tell you what is wrong and what it costs to put right before doing it. If a part needs ordering we will say so rather than start and stop.

Common questions

What people ask about plumbing work.

Do you do bathroom installations?

No. We are heating engineers and we would rather send you to someone who fits bathrooms every week than do a passable job on something outside what we are best at.

What does a plumbing repair cost?

Attendance is £90 inc. VAT on weekdays, then £45 per additional half hour. Evenings and weekends are higher. Parts are extra and quoted before they go in — the full rates are on the pricing page.

Do you handle emergencies?

Yes, and a burst pipe counts as one. Call the same number. Out of hours carries a different rate, which we will confirm before coming out.

Can you service an unvented cylinder?

Yes. Unvented cylinders need an annual safety check and it is a job that needs the right qualification — booking it alongside a boiler service roughly halves the cost of it because the engineer is already there.

Will you take on work in a rental property?

Yes, and we deal with tenants directly to arrange access if that is easier for you.
