Who we are
A local firm, not a franchise.
GH Heating Services is a family-run business working out of Ardleigh, just outside Colchester. We are not a national brand with a local phone number, and we are not a directory that passes your job to whoever is nearest. When you call, you speak to the people who will turn up.
That has consequences you notice. The same engineers come back to the same properties, so they know your system before they arrive. Nobody is working to a script or an upsell target. And when something goes wrong — which it does, in any trade — there is one firm accountable for putting it right rather than a chain of subcontractors pointing at each other.

Accreditation is a floor, not a distinction — plenty of firms hold the same tickets. It matters because the absence of them should end the conversation, and because you can verify every one of those numbers yourself rather than take our word for it.
How we work
The things we will not do.
We quote a fixed price in writing before work starts and it does not move afterwards. If we find something mid-job that changes it, we stop and tell you rather than adding it to the bill at the end.
We will tell you when a repair is not worth doing, when a power flush will not fix your cold radiator, and when a heat pump is the wrong answer for your house. Losing a job by being straight about it is cheaper than the alternative, and it is why people call us back.
We do not do sales visits, and there is nobody on commission. Surveys and quotes are free with nothing attached to them.

How long have you been going?

Are you actually local?
Yes — we work out of Ardleigh, four miles outside Colchester. Our vans are already on the road across north Essex and south Suffolk every working day, so you are getting an engineer who is nearby and knows the area, not a national brand with a local phone number.
Who will turn up?
One of our own engineers. We do not subcontract domestic work, and on commercial sites you get the same team each visit so they learn the plant.
What if something goes wrong?
You call us and we come back. That is the whole advantage of using a local firm you can actually reach over a national brand with a call centre.
Do you charge for a quote?
No, and there is no obligation. We would rather survey properly and lose the job than price it blind and get it wrong.
